Companion
Workshop
|
|
Designed
to help you meet the state-mandated objectives for Fine
Arts education, this stimulating and informative Companion
Workshop is a perfect complement to a Roberts Marionettes
assembly.
|
|
After
the entire school has seen the performance, enjoyed the
demonstration of how the marionettes work, and had a chance
to ask questions, the puppeteer can present an additional
program for your intermediate students. The thrust of this
special workshop is more overtly educational, offering more
extensive and more personalized instruction.
|
|
Your
students will get to see "behind the scenes"
production secrets. We examine the conceptualization, production,
and performance of the story. The specific topics covered
depend on the interests of the group and may include a discussion
of adapting literature to the stage, choosing voices to
indicate character and mood, designing and building puppets,
costuming, creating sets, integrating the visual arts and
music with puppetry, and puppeteering and theatre as vocations.
The 30-minute session concludes with a backstage tour.
|
|
Targeted
to grades 4 and up and limited to 100 students per session,
the Companion Workshop is available for a small additional
fee.
Would
you like your students to participate?

"The
small group session is wonderful! The children gain valuable
insight.
I've also received calls of compliments from parents."
